It’s where I keep my accessories and my collection of design books. If I were to explain each accessory…there are sunglasses here and my necklaces. And now, onto the living room…no..yes, onto the living room. Tada, someone drew this for me and gave it to me as a gift. Isn’t it drawn well? These are my parents’ wedding pictures. It’s hard to show them to you any closer. The one on the right is me when I was in junior high school. This is where we cook in our house! Yes, it’s the kitchen. What could be in the fridge? Nothing. In the freezer. Ahew, only healthy foods…ginger tea, dates. What is that? Looks like hot bean paste…and this is my herbal medicine. My health hasn’t been too good these days so I’ve been taking herbal medicine. Ok, now let’s look at the living room again…there’s an air conditioner. This is the kind of car I really want to buy later. It’s a hummer. It’s my dream car. The bathroom right next to my room looks like this. Here are the products I use to take a shower and my electric toothbrush. My fans gave that to me as a gift. Tada, here also are my shower stuff. Q-tips, and you can see my razor, right? The razor is an expensive one. Oi!! Here’s a familiar face… Here, you see my hats and my various winter clothes. And my belts. Yes, so how was it? This is what my house is like. And what else can I show you guys? I’ll go looking… (caption says, In the process of looking…). This picture here is of JYP, my director and me in a limo in the US. I had been invited by a promotion company so I’m on my way there in the limo and we took a picture in the car holding up wine glasses and other things. This picture I shouldn’t make public but the two women…the one of my left is my noona who takes care of things for me in the US and the one on my right is my coordinator noona. Aren’t they both pretty? They don’t have boyfriends. Introduce them to guys you know please. And this picture…this is from Universal Studios. Cha Tae Hyun and I took a picture with Shrek. And this picture is from the time I used to do TaeKwonDo. This is in Japan. All these people are KaRahDae (??) players. So I remember training with them. It was quite hard… Ahew, it was so cold…but look at my kicking pose. How cold must my feet have been? Really, after this we took our shoes off and ran in the snowfield. It’s really hard to do. I’m going to publicize my topless picture…tada. I think I look like a Hong Kong actor in this picture. This was in Malaysia. I was on vacation there. This picture here was when I did my first game show with ParkKyoungRhim. We took a picture together. It’s already been about a year and 5 months since my debut. (with the breathing mask) My throat has not been good lately so I’ve been receiving some treatment. And with this, Bi’s self-camera has ended for today.

[7]Fatal encounter with Park Jinyeong (JYP)
In 2000, the two biggest incidents of my life happened. I met (Park) Jinyeong, who lead me to be a singer, and my mother passed away. I will first talk about how I met Jinyeong. I joined an underground dance team in junior year of my high school. I lived with them, cooking and washing up the dishes, and also danced at the clubs in Itaeweon and Hongik University, which were the "in place" at that time. My family was going through hard times at that time. My father had been in the trade business but after repeated failures, he left us a letter saying that he will return when he's settled and left for Brazil. So, my mother, who had been suffering from diabetes had to support the family. I couldn't understand my mother who kept on working when she was so unwell. I feel that I had been foolish and inconsiderate at that time. I indulged in dance even more as I started to feel dissatisfaction about my parents. One day, I followed a friend who was working as a road manager to a shabby office. Then, oh my, Park Jinyeong walked into the office. That room was the office of Jinyeong's JYP entertainment. Jinyeong saw me, and asked "Can I possibly ask what you do?" I answered, "I dance" and he asked me to send a video tape so he can audition me. 'Wow, will Park Jinyeong, the producer who trained god and Park Jiyun train me to be a singer?' I was so happy at the moment and I sent the tape for audition to him as soon as I came back.

[8] Park Jinyeong pays my mother's hospital bills
(Park) Jinyeong called me after I had sent the audition tape. He said, 'let's release a record' and accepted me as his trainee. I was truly happy, and I danced and practiced singing even harder. While I was absorbed in happiness and working to make my dream come true, my nother's illness worsened severly. My father, who had left for Brazil just like that, came back to Korea after a few months without adapting to the local conditions. My mother played the role of the family's head in place of my father and her illness worsened all of the sudden, but since my mother had been ill frequently from when I was young, I didn't realize that the situation was that serious at that time. My father wandered from region to region even after he had come back, and there was no one to take care of my mother. I also didn't look after my mother well, thinking 'if I'm the only one who works hard for living, so be it.' I told Jinyeong everything about my mother's condition. Then, he said, "I will admit her into the hospital and pay for the bills so you needn't worry," and comforted me. I am truly grateful to him. My mother was hospitalized after that but it was too late by then. At the time my mother was hospitalized, she had severe inflammation already and her entire body had gathered. The people at the hospital also said that I'd better take her home. My mother came back home, and I really feel a lump in my heart when I recall those days. My mother's condition kept on worsening and we took her back to the hospital. Jinyeong and his wife came to the hospital to stay with my mother.

[9] How can someone like you dance?
Although so many people helped, my mother fell into a coma, and passed away just like that. My mother said her last words as she passed away. She told me to look after my sister well, and I promised her to do so. Also, in my heart, I told myself over and over to do my best and become the best. My heart still aches when I think of my mother. I could have shown her how well I am doing if only she could wait a little more... When my heart breaks I recall how I neglected my family while I could have been really good. I practiced even harder after my mother passed away. Jinyeong didn't teach things one by one but he showed the way to do them. Our company made a video tape with 12 soul dance motions and 9 steps and I practiced until I got tired of it. When Jinyeong wasn't busy, he'd visit the studio to see me dancing and teach me. But he never said a word of compliment to me. Nowadays he often says "great or good job" but in those days, he used to discourage me, saying "how can someone like you dance? It will never work." That was his way of training. When Jinyeong couldn't train me because of his music works in the US, I had to fight against loneliness. I stayed at the studio until late after everybody's gone home to compose dances and practice and at times, I was really lonely and depressed. So, the method I came up with was to practice singing and dancing in the subway and buses.

[10] Fighting against loneliness
I got so tired practicing alone. So I practiced like a crazy on the way to the studio and back home. I sang to the music loudly, composed dances that will fit the song, and danced in the subway and buses openly. To others, I was an 'insane' guy. Although I felt uneasy that I might not become a singer after Jinyeong left for the US to become a producer, but I fought against loneliness and practiced hard alone. And Jinyeong came back from the US after completing his work as a producer. So, I thought I'd be working on my album right away, but Jinyeong said that his album is to be released first because he has a good song. So, my debut album was postponed to August. And I composed the dance for <But I'm Taken>. Although not the entire dance for the song is done by me, there is a lot of my dance in <But I'm Taken>. Also, I worked as Jinyeong's dancer. Although it was a good chance to experience the stage, but going everywhere with Jinyeong everyday and practicing was very difficult. While Jinyeong talked to his wardrobes and road managers or resting, I was still practicing without a rest. I had to sing automatically whenever Jinyeong waves his hand, and I repeated singing the same song almost a hundred time a day. Each time, I got hit on the head because I "get the wrong notes again". Getting hit in the head sounds like nothing but being hit on the same spot again hurts quite a bit.

[11] Working on my album has setbacks and delays
While I was back dancing for (Park) Jinyeong, I think I sang the song <Baby, Bay> alone, a number that is in my album, almost a hundred times. In the van where others were sleeping and resting, I sang the song endlessly to the waving of Jinyeong's hand. I kept on practicing like that and waited for August when my album would be released. Then, as August came, the situation changed again. It was time to release(Park) Jiyun's album, who's in the same management company. My album was postponed to November again. My anxiety grew in those series of events. After working on Jiyun's album, Jinyeong left for the US again. I held onto practicing singing in uneasiness as I had nothing else to hang onto. I wondered if I'll ever release my own album after all these hard working for 2 years and that I was growing old for a dance singer. Upon his return to Korea around February this year, Jinyeong said "let release your album this time for real" and recording was over in 1 month. The recording didn't take long because all songs had been out already. At last, the debut stage of <Bad Man> was on April 28. I wanted to show everything I had practiced so far - the song and the dance - but it didn't go as well as I had thought. Although I didn't make any particular mistake, I was tense and couldn't move my body freely. But I told myself 'it will be the end if I don't do it right this time' and faced my fans contiuously, and I gradually gained self-confidence.

[12 ending] I want to succeed as a fashion desinger as well
The comment that made me feel the worst since I started to perform as a singer was "why aren't you singing live?" Since I practiced singing so hard, I was sure that I can sing live. But since I wasn't experienced much and being a newbie, I had to lip-synch on stage more than not. I was left distressed until I sang live at of MBC TV in end of June. People complimented that "I thought you danced well, but you sing well too" and they were surprised on the other hand. Hearing compliments after singing live was the best memory I have until now. And my greatest wish is to become a singer who sings live well. It's been only three months since my debut. I was known by the song and its succeeding song is getting even more popularity among fans. So, I will be working hard until the end of this year. Recently, I've challenged the new territory of acting. I will be playing the role of a 'player' in a sitcom and I find acting very interesting. I want to show my all-round talent that sings and acts well, and later, I want to succeed as a fashion designer. My biggest dream now it to stand tall as a successful singer in 10 years, and by then, I will start design studies. And in 20 years from now, I want to be acknowledged as a designer too.

I still can't believe that I'm a singer. Sometimes when I fine my CD among those I own while I arrange them, I feel my heart swelling. It is a true happiness to me that there will be people somewhere who will listen and follow after my dance just like I modeled myself after the dances and songs of Seotaeji and Boys and Deux when I dreamt of becoming a singer. I used to live near Hongik University when I was a child. My mother passed away two years ago, and I now I live with two others, my father and my sister. My sister who's 3 years younger than me (I was born in 1982 and my real name is Jeong Jihun) is so blunt that we are not so close at that time. Both of us are taciturn and we hardly exchange more than two or three sentences all day. I am told that I used to like going out without telling anyone when I was young. There is one incident I remember faintly. It's my leaving home when I was 4. My parents came home from work together but they couldn't find me. So they called the police for adjunction of disappearance and looked for me here and there almost in insanity, but still couldn't find me. A day went by and my parents got a phone call. They said they found me in Ganghwa-do. There was a bus terminal in front of our place, and I think I might have taken the bus from there. They saw the contact number on my wrist band in Ganghwa-do and called my family. Although I can't remember clearly, I have a faint memory of a lady who helped me get on the bus.

[2] I've been an introvert from the begining
Even when I was young, I had been introversive and taciturn like now. It still takes me a long time to get close to people. But once I become close, I talk so much that I am surprised that I can speak so well. I didn't have much talent in studying when I was in elementary school and let the day go by without saying a word. So it was natural that I didn't have a girlfriend who liked me. I was an unnoticeable student in class. If there was anything that people would notice about me is that I was a bit tall. I was always the third or fourth tallest boy in the class. I would always sit there quietly, but one day I stirred it up. It was at the talent show competition among classes during the school trip when I was in the 6th grade. Our class's turn was closing in and nobody volunteered. I kept on watching and felt impatient so told them that I will enter the competition to represent our class. But the response of the kids in our class was much less than flattering. I could hear them say slanders about me from here and there, saying 'why is he representing us?' I got proud and finally it was our class's turn. I stood on the stage. The children concentrated on me and the music was on. I told myself to 'show them something' and danced the dances I saw on the TV and street without a second thought. There was a burst of clapping hands as my stage was over. I felt the fulfilling emotion for the first time, and a thought crossed my mind suddenly. It said, 'Yes, it's dance.'

[3] Depression and an urge to kill myself
I entered Sungmun Junior High as I awakened to dance. By looks, anyone could tell that I was a disorderly student by appearance. In order to learn how to dance, I hung out with older boys who were disorderly and neglected school works. Although they took my money and clothes, I followed them because of one reason that I have to learn how to dance. There was a time when we got caught by the police and taken to the police station while we were practicing at the park near Hongik University because we didn't have anywhere to go and practice dancing and people around us pointed at us saying we are disorderly students. I lied to my father thatI am going to the library to study, and there was nothing I could do but neglect my studies because I was busy dancing. As this went on, my grades got worse and worse. I sat for the fist exam of my junior high, and I got average score of 45. It was something I could get by guessing instead of going through the questions. But since I was so tired out dancing that I slept during the examination without solving the questions. Frankly, I was also shocked by the results. My father didn't even treat me like his own son. He told me to leave home and didn't even look at me. If my father had beaten me or gotten extreme with me, I could have become perversed, but I gave myself a lot of thoughts seeing my father like that. As I came to talk to nobody in the family, I fell into a depression and there were time when I even felt the urge to kill myself. So I worried myself sick over it and decided that I need to go better in studies than this, so I committed myself to reading and could recover my scores to a degree.

[4] I promised my dad that I will not do anything bad
Although I hung out with scarey boys to learn how to dance, I promised my father that I will never smoke and do bad things. I still keep my words about not smoking. Our dancing team practiced hard, and entered the national amateur dance competition held at Lotte World, Jamsil, Seoul to confirming our talent. Although I can't remember what year exactly, Pyo Inbong, the comedian, was the MC of the competition. The name of our danding team was 'Challenger.' I entered the competition with four other guys, and I stood in the middle to dance as I was tall. We didn't receive any award though. Later, I heard from Inbong after I became a singer that Gangta, the singer, had also entered the competition. I took interest in rugby when I was in the second grade of junior high. The boys in ruby club looked cool and I practiced amongst the rugby club members of the school nearby, but I felt like I couldn't do both dance and sports well, so I chose dance. Then it came the last year of junior high and I started to worry about my future. My friend went to liberal arts high schools but I looked for one where I can dance and study at the same time. So, I came to the conclusion of high school for arts. I didn't go to any acting school and I took notes of actors' lines when I watched drama and practiced acting by memorizing them by myself.

[5] I proudly passed the entry exam for Angyang High School of Arts
Since I didn't know anything about acting, I went to the book store, bought all the acting related books and read them all before the entry examination of Angyang High School of Arts. I had to show other special ability, and I looked for something related to dance and decided to prepare mime. I was certain about expressing things with my body. The people who knew me disagreed with me, saying that 'acting is not your thing,' but I worked hard and passed the examination proudly. But now that acting has become a study for me, it didn't look like fun anymore and didn't suit me that well. So, during the freshman year, I passed acting and continued hanging out with the guys and dancing. As people came to know about my dancing, I came to enter various talent shows as the representing competitor and I grabbed the attention of girls as well. Every morning when I go to school and open the locker, there were presents from unknown people. The presents were mostly milk, cakes, flowers and letters. I regret that I didn't try to find out who they were but I was too busy dancing that I didn't have the time to think about girls. In my freshman year, I tried to adapt to acting to a degree, but during the early sophomore year, I came to hate acting classes so much so that I couldn't bear taking it anymore. So I was late for school more than on time and kept my seat during the morning session only, and slipped out during acting training class. So, there I was, indulging myself into dance, and I got 'stamped' as a bad boy.
[6] I beat up my teacher with astick
I'll talk about my 'teacher assault' this time. When I went to Anyang High School or Arts, I beat the buttocks of my teacher because of dance. As I concentrated on dancing and skipped acting team sessions, the senior students started to hate me. They took me to the backyard of the school and beat me up and rebuked me that I shouldn't break the team work. So I changed my mind and decided to 'concentrate on acting than dancing.' But suppressing my desire to dance didn't go too far. One day, I couldn't stand it anymore and ran out of the classroom. The next day, the teacher who was teaching the class came in with a stick. Then, he said, "Beat me with this stick. If you don't, I'll beat other students." There were so many conflicts of thoughts in my head at that moment. Many girls were in the same class and there were only good kids in there. So I thought about what I'm going to do for a bit and beat the teacher's buttocks with the stick. There was nothing I can do at that moment. It was only days before our graduation when the teacher told us about this incident frankly. He said that he never thought that I would really beat him. He used the same trick when he was teaching at another high school for arts, and when teachers play this trick, the student mostly say they are so sorry and cry but we were such a formidable foe.

Cliff House & Ocean Beach

이 제 마지막 컷. 클리프 하우스와 오션 비치로 향했다. 비가 내려 회색빛으로 물든 파도와 어우러져 한폭의 수채화 같은 분위기. 비가 입은 블랙 코트와 화이트 팬츠, 그리고 촬영중에 급수한 싸구려 우산은 비의 솔직한 자화상을 만들어 냈다.
Now, the last cut. We made for the Cliff House & Ocean Beach. The mood was like an article of water-color, in harmony with the waves that were dyeing into grey by the falling rain. The black coat and white pants put on by Rain, and the cheap umbrella gotten during photographing made out Rain’s candid self-portrait.

그리고 로케에서의 마지막 사진을 고민하던 중 그가 우산을 벗어던졌다. “이미 젖을 대로 젖었는데, 그냥 비 맞을래요.” 비는 역시 프로였다.
Agonizing over the last series of pictures on the locale, he suddenly threw his umbrella away, and said, “I am already wet enough. Let me just keep in the rain.” Rain was a professional, indeed.

“메 이크업 지워질라, 정리 좀 해줄게요.” 라고 말하자 “실장님 근데 왜 우세요?” 그가 뜬금없이 물었다. 마구 쏟아지는 빗방울이 하필 메이크업 아티스트의 두 눈 사이로 떨어져 눈물이 되어 흐르고 있었다. 비의 장난기 어린 멘트에 모두들 유쾌하게 웃으며 촬영을 무사히 마쳤고, 그의 순수한 미소도 사진에 담을 수 있었다.
To the saying, “I am afraid your makeup might disappear. So I will give you a touch on it,” Rain asked out of the blue, “Senior, why are you weeping?” Of all parts, the heavily falling rain drops happened to fall between make-up artist’s eyes to run down in tears. At his playful remark, all of us around laughed cheerfully before finishing the photographing. In pictures, we could contain his innocent smile too.

Hotel in China Town

호 텔로 돌아온 그는 축 처진 호박잎 같았다. 약간의 감기 기운도 느껴지는 듯 상기된 얼굴을 하고 있었다. 이 짧은 휴가가 끝나면 일본 쇼 케이스, 부산 콘서트까지 피 말리는 스케줄을 소화해내야 한다. “나 역마살이 끼었나봐. 단 하루를 한국에서 보낼 수가 없어. 평생 일할 팔자라더니.”
Back in hotel, he looked like a pumpkin leaf drooped down. As if with a little cold symptom, his face was reddish. After this short vacation, there is an exhausting itinerary like show cases in Japan and Busan concert ahead of Rain. “I guess I have itchy feet. There are so many days when I can’t spend in Korea. No wonder my destiny was working for life time, according to fortunetelling.”

그가 혀를 차며 하는 말에 모두들 한 마디씩 위로의 멘트를 던졌다.
To Rain’s wonder-struck words, every person threw a comment of consolation.

“내 가 점을 자주 보는 용한 점집이 있는데, 비의 관상이 대대손손 걱정 안 할 정도로 복이 많대.” 메이크업 아티스트의 멘트로 시작, “다음에 한국에서 보면 더 멋지게 스타일링해줄게요” 한연구 기자의 멘트, “밸런타인데이라 초콜릿 준비했는데 어디로 갔더라?” 포토그래퍼 목 실장님까지.
“There is a fortuneteller’s house I often go to for fortunetelling, who said Rain’s physiognomy has full of fortune enough not to worry for many generations to come,” makeup artist’s remark was the first consolation. “If I see you in Korea, I will make better of your styling,” said Han Yeongu reporter’s remark. “I prepared a chocolate for Valentine’s Day. Where is the chocolate?” comforted photographer Mok too.

생각해보니 밸런타인데이를 혼자 보내게 만든 나로서는 더 이상 할 말이 없어 촬영에 열심히 임해준 고마움을 침묵으로 대신했다. 모든 일정을 끝내고 잠깐의 쇼핑과 관광을 한 후 비는 일본으로, 우리는 한국으로 꿈 같은 샌프란시스코에서의 휴가에 마침표를 찍었다. ♡
Come to think of it, there seemed to be nothing to say any more, as me who had Rain spending alone on Valentine’s Day. So I expressed with silence the gratitude that Rain had performed photographing diligently. After the whole schedule and a short while of shopping in San Francisco, Rain went to Japan, while we came to Korea. Now, we put a period mark on the vacation in San Francisco.

Recently Bi went to Cuba with the famous photographer, Cho Sun Hee, and was photographed with the Caribean beaches and old streets as background, spending about a week.

Back to Los Angeles on 13th, he is busy doing additional photo shoots in the desert.

According to a close source, despite war and revolution, Cuban cities still manage to preserve rare and forgotten city images from 100 years ago; providing unique atmosphere for upcoming photo album and DVD project.

The release date for Photo Album and DVD is not set yet, however, it will be released simultaneously in Korea and Japan. He added that it will be a package deal.

When he is finished with the photo shoots, Bi will be spending time with Park Jin Young going through vocal training. Begining of July, a concert in New York is planned.

Rain, to Appear in the China Academy Music Awards on May 22

Rain is appearing as an awarder and congratulatory performer on the second China Academy Music Awards, which is held in Shanghai china at 7 P.M. on May 22. On that day’s performance, Hong Kong-born Alan Tom is also appearing as an awardee and congratulatory performer, one of the best stars in Chinese speaking areas, and so are Taminura Cyndi and Taiwan-born Han Hong, etc. appearing on the stage.

Participating in the event representative of Korea, Rain receives a hearty welcome as the best star because he is assigned as much as 8 minutes compared to other singers who will sing just one or two songs on the congratulatory performing stage. Earlier, Rain was also assigned the longest time of all the present singers in the ‘Pepsi Music Awards,’ which was the best music award in China held in Pecking last March 20.

Rain will sing the three songs like 'It's raining', 'Bad Guy', 'Instead of Goodbye' in the China Academy Music Award. This awards is broadcasted live throughout China, under the auspices of the Shanghai Oriental TV (Dongfang TV) affiliated with SMG (Shanghai Media Group), the biggest media group in Shanghai China. Having been received vocal training along with relaxation in America, Rain is going to be straight on the stage according to his schedule by entering China on the very day of performance on 22nd.

Rain to Perform with Alan Tam in Shanghai

Singer Rain will present awards as well as perform at the 2nd China Academy Music Awards to be held in Shanghai on May 22 at 7 p.m. His “rival” will be Alan Tam, a Hong Kong-born star who is famous in the Chinese-speaking region and will also perform and present at the ceremony.

Other performers will include Japanese star Tamimura Sindy and Taiwanese star Han Hong.

As a representative of Korea, Rain will perform on stage for eight minutes, unlike other artists, who will only sing one or two songs each. Rain was allotted the longest time at another Chinese music award ceremony back in March as well. At this show he will perform “It's Raining,” “Bad Guy” and “Instead of Saying Good-bye.”

The China Academy Music Awards is held by the Oriental Television Station, an affiliate of the Shanghai Media Group, the largest media company in Shanghai. The ceremony is broadcast live throughout China. Rain, who is currently resting and receiving vocal training in the U.S., will fly to China on the day of the ceremony on May 22.

Hello, here I am!
How are you? I send my greeting to you since long go.
I have been to abroad for nearly a month. I returned home again! ^^
Several days later, I am going to leave for performance in China and Japan,
I have been able to many experience and I am thanking very much.^^
I am trying to show wonderful appearance to more people.
For the while, I could not had a rest after surgery properly,
I think that I had the rest to received the vocal training and have relaxing time after a long time.
The weather became very warm,
On a clear day, the midday weather is hot like early summer and in mornings and evenings is chill.

A "New Dimension" in Korean Music Emerges as Korea's Best Talents Hit the Los Angeles Sports Arena

Despite rows of empty seats, concert-goers at the New Dimension Tour still enjoyed a full production with all the light spectacles and screaming girls to boot. Artists like Bi, Seven, and Park Jin Young showcased their new musical stylings, featuring a unique blend of Korean ballads and American hip-hop.

On Friday, February 8th, 2004, the great Los Angeles Sports Arena began to fill with melodic vibrations as hundreds of girls rushed to their seats. With homemade t-shirts bearing declarations of love, the New Dimension Tour organized by AM Entertainment was about to take its rank in Korean pop music history. It has been quite some time since such an eclectic forum of Korean music artists gathered to perform in the states. Whoever thought that the coffin on Korean hip-hop was nailed shut ten years ago along with Razor scooters and virtual pets apparently didn’t know about this concert.

Glen Yun, one of the lead coordinators from AM Entertainment explained that New Dimension was put together in order to “rebuild trust within the Korean community.” Korean pop music has taken a decline over the years, with concert and CD sales depreciating. By including new artists from the YG Family like Lexy, Whee Sung, Seven - and Bi and Park Jin Young from the JYP group, AM Entertainment hoped to “promote these talented artists,” and bring Korean music back to its previous height. Unlike other concerts, New Dimension is one of the first circuit tours to take place in the US.

As Yun explains, “Most concerts are usually held in one city, and to bring the same show to Chicago and L.A. was a daring move. But it was one that investors were willing to take in order to give something back to the community.” It wasn’t hard to get the artists to agree to do this show. After all, these performers are some of the biggest talents in Korea, and jumped at the chance to work with each other in an innovative tour. In addition, because of the novelty of these performers, their work had yet to be exposed to American fans. By introducing themselves through the New Dimension project, many of them hoped to gain a foothold in the American music industry. The vision to do this was already in play long before New Dimension was ever developed. As Yun states, “All of them are related [in the same recording family], and were willing to jump right in. It was really easy for them to come together and focus on a theme.”

Bearing these thoughts in mind, New Dimension was expected to be a smashing success. However, poor promotion and publicity coverage brought out a less than average crowd. Was Korean music really done and over with? It sure seemed so, with a crowd of about 800 in an auditorium built for 17,000. Despite the lack of audience members, those who attended brought with them the kind of energy that would shake a Roman amphitheater. It wasn’t only the true blue fans who came out, but some newbies who were drawn by the diversity of the artists did as well. Feeding off of the intensity of the audience’s anticipation, New Dimension opened with 19 year-old singing sensation, Seven.

Immediately, fans began to rush towards the stage. The whole stadium roared with cheers and "I Love You"s. This was going to be a different kind of a concert. It wouldn’t be like the traditional shows where you held lighters in the air and swayed back and forth, but the kind where you got up on your seats and boogied down with the entertainers. Performing hits like “Plz Come,” “Baby I Like” and “With Flowers,” Seven showed L.A. fans his fusion of fast paced beats and expressive love lyrics. His energetic flow transformed into choreographed danced routines, which got any remaining seated audience members up on their feet. Audience members routinely broke out into song, as Seven continued to woo girls by passing out roses.

Not to be out done, Whee Sung stepped on to the stage with his own formula. Unlike Seven, Whee Sung focused more on ballads that showed off his octave range. He serenaded his fans with songs like “I’m Missing You” and “Why Not,” and even mixed in the R. Kelly hit “I Believe I Can Fly.” There was a simple sweetness to his songs that transcended all cultural boundaries. The graciousness and soul of his performance perfectly paved the way for lady rapper Lexy. Her smooth rhymes and quick wit in “Let me Dance” showed audiences that she could definitely hold her own in a house full of male performers. As she continued to rap, the end of the YG family performance culminated in “Luz Control.” Seven, Whee Sung, and Lexy teased their way through the song. The trio battled each other in busting rhymes and quick flows. They even engaged the competitive spirit in audience members by throwing out free hats.

Quite possibly the most popular star in Korea right now, Bi, started the JYP leg of the concert with enthusiasm. 75 minutes into the concert, audience members were still pumped with excitement as Bi sang his hits “Avoiding the Sun,” “Handshake,” and “Instead of Goodbye.” The interlude between his songs was packed with dance battles. Bi’s fluid moves were played out to Missy Elliot and 50 Cent beats. His songs were not only the slow jams that audiences usually swoon to, but they also feature a combination of rock, rap, and R&B. The creativeness of each tune set a new bar for future Korean artists.

In order to increase the stimulation of audience members, Bi took the time out to do a question and answer session with fans. He teased doting female fans with air hugs and kisses. They teased back by questioning his love life. However, what these new artists couldn’t bring to the forum was the sentiments of old school Korean jams. This gap was filled by Park Jin Young. Not only has Park Jin Young established himself as a recording artist and producer, but the platform of New Dimension allowed him to communicate to fans that that sometimes classics are still the best songs to rock to. Light shows and a diverse range of harmonies exemplified Park Jin Young’s rendition of “Baby Come To,” “I Have a Girl,” and “She Was Pretty.” What proved to be popular ten years ago proved to be popular today. Like his counterpart, Bi, Park also danced to rhythmic beats and kept the morale of the audience upbeat.

Even at the end of a long two and a half hour concert, audience members still craved for more. This only proves that a big audience doesn't necessarily determine the success of a concert. The enthusiasm from the fans fed the artists, who in turn put together a great production. What can be taken away from this tour is that regardless of suffering album sales, talented artists will still bring forth great songs. To have all of the six members together on stage only engrained this idea in the new generation of Korean pop fans.

Qeen of Hiphop",Lil'Kim offered Bi to join her album. At first, JYP gave her a song and showed her Bi's MV. She said" I didn't know such a great singer in Asia."" Performance including song, dance and looks is perfect." Bi said, " My honor to collaborate with a famous musician. Thank you for the compliment." The song Bi and Lil'Kim sing together has not decided yet. In the case of American Entertainment, the company makes the last decision which songs will be in the album so that 's a very open one.

JYP said," The debut of Bi in the US is not sure.Even though this would be failed ,the challenge of Bi and me will be going on."
