[color=darkblue]Korean popular star Rain since coming to Hong Kong last Sunday to attend press conference for DHC, had kept low profile on shooting the commercial. He finally appeared to see his Fans only yesterday morning.
Since appearing last Sunday for the press conference, for the past 2 days Rain has been resorting to all means to keep low profile on his commercial shooting. Accordingly, Rain was scheduled to leave Hong Kong to return to Korea yesterday, for this reason, he made a surprise appearance to see his supporting fans yesterday morning; there was not a site of the big-built body guards to block cameras, and he was using the main door allowing everybody to take photos of him, he even waved with his charming smile, showing sign of appreciation to his Fans.
Yesterday morning at 8:15am, Rain wore a cap with a long-sleeve top revealing his muscular body, left the hotel using the main entrance to board his car. Though it was early morning, he did not put on sunglasses, waved with his charming smile to his Fans. Fans were screaming when Rain revealed his broad back while bending over to board his car. Numerous Fans hired mini-vans to chase after him. The car arrived at the white house at Sai Kung to continue shooting the commercial. Staff used black cloth and anti-reflective board to seal the windows. Till about 12noon, they went to buy packet rice for everyone including Rain as lunch. The shooting ended at 5pm and Rain returned to the hotel. At night, he proceeded to the airport and departed for Korea.
Jay Chow lose commercial deals because of his girlfriend
According to Taiwan’s news, Jay lost DHC commercial deal to Rain because of his girlfriend, Hou. He had strongly recommended his girlfriend to DHC as their ambassador in Taiwan at HK$250,000. However, Hou acted like a big shot and DHC was not happy with her attitude, so they decided to drop her. The Record company clarified that it was due to the Taxation problem as they initially thought the deal included paying the tax but it was not and Jay needs to pay the tax, so the deal was called off.

Rain defects Jay Chou

Asian popular star Jay Chow is badly being affected by the new favourite Rain who had recently successfully replaced Jay to shoot commercial for DHC brand skin product. The latest news received is that another Jay’s commercial advertisement for One2Free which he has represented for the past 2 years, will soon be replaced by Rain.
Korean super idol Rain who visited Hong Kong, had been showered with much support, did not show signs of slowing down, putting efforts to shoot the commercial advertisement. Source has revealed that One2Free has recently contacted Rain to invite him to be their new ambassador, replacing Jay and the possibility is high. Accordingly, Jay who heard about Rain taking place of him for the 2nd time, was very anxious and work hard to negotiate with One2Free hoping to keep his present status.

Asking Price of HK$4 million
According to source, Rain’s asking price is not steep, which is the same price as DHC at HK$4 million and again HK$1 million more than Jay’s. Though Rain has become the hot favourite of Hong Kong Commercial businessmen, he did not ask for high price due to the high demand. The reason for this is because he thinks greatly of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan being the 3 [Golden Egg], hope to penetrate the Asian market through these commercials.
At 9:30am yesterday, Rain with 8 body guards travelled to a village near the seaside at Sai Kung, where the shooting venue is a 3-storey white house, DHC has hired an attractive Eurasian model Nikki Chow to be his female lead in the shooting. The shooting location was well prepared to shield from the reporters, it was surrounded and guarded by several 6ft tall security men to block reporters’ camera. In the house, all glass-panel windows were covered with white clothes. Rain’s van arrived and drove straight into the house, the reporters could only see Rain’s back view, he was wearing a cream cap, white t-shirt with long pants.

Not picky on food
Shortly after his arrival, the staff delivered cartons of food including orange juice, grape juice, honey, mandarin orange juice and mineral water, also includes Rain’s favourite – Korean kimchi and milk. According, Rain is not picky when it comes to food, as long as there are soup, rice, kimchi and milk for his meals.

RAIN to hold Roundtrip Concert in Asia next Summer

South Korean Heavenly King Rain who recently had his solo concert at Budokan in Japan on 2nd & 3rd September, made a public announcement that he will make a round trip concert next year in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China and Singapore – Asia roundtrip concert, according to Yahoo news.
23 years old Rain had gained remarkable results in Taiwan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand, will continue his strive in Japan. In order to do so, he plans to spend more time and stay in Japan for a period of time next year.
Rain’s live concert DVD [RAINY DAY] was ranked 4th in Japan since its launch on 31st August, this is an encouraging result for him.
In Tokyo, Rain has made the announcement that next year Summer he has planned a round trip to Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, China and Singapore for his Asia concert, he is anticipated to perform in 20 cities for 30 odd concert nights. This is an indeed worth-waiting news for his Fans.

Change of Plot for Rain's New Drama

Bi will transform into a bodyguard. He takes up this role as an attempt to take revenge for his elder brother who is a vegetable due to his failed suicide attempt.

Bi carries the mistaken conception that Shin Minah's character, top-star Cha EunSeok betrayed his brother and so when her fiance played by Lee KiWoo elects to hire a bodyguard for her, Bi takes on the job with the intention to avenge his brother, but the fact that he is around her 24/7 causes him to see her in a different light and fall for her.

PD Kim GyuTae says that "in the past Bi was always perceived as a ggotminam (direct literal translation= flowerlike beautiful guy; it means something like, a guy with a sweet sort of cute charm; people like wonbin, F4 are considered to be in this category) but with this drama, he can show his masculine and tough side through the role"

The drama will commence filming after the 10th of september after Bi ends his overseas performances.

Rain - Shin Mina’s First ‘Intense’ Practice of Script for 6 Hours
비와 신민아 등 KBS2 '이 죽일 놈의 사랑'(가제, 극본 이경희•연출 김규태)의 출연진들이 장장 여섯시간에 걸쳐 첫 대본연습을 가졌다.
The persons to perform in the KBS-2 Drama ‘This Detestable Love’(Provisional Title, scriptwriter: Lee Kyeonghui, Producer: Gim Gyutae) such as Rain and Shin Mina had their first script-practicing time for long 6 hours.

이날 대본 연습은 김 PD와 이 작가가 캐릭터에 대한 설명과 함께, 각각의 대사 톤을 일일이 대화로 잡아주며 화기애애한 분위기에서 이루어졌다.
Together with Gim PD and scriptwriter Lee's explaining the characters and correcting each performer’s speech tone through talking, this day’s script practice was carried in a happy and harmonious atmosphere.

젊은 연기자들이 모인 만큼 금세 서로에게 익숙해져 종종 웃음소리가 터져 나오기도 했다. As young performers gathered, they soon got so accustomed to each other they would break into laughter at times.

일본 부도칸 공연을 마치고 이틀전 귀국, 이날 대본연습에 참가한 비는 다소 피곤한 모습이었지만 격한 감정을 표현하기 위해 고함을 지르는 열성적인 모습을 보였다.
Arriving at home 2 days ago after Budokan performance and participating in this day’s script practice, Rain looked a little tired. But he showed an enthusiasm shouting out to express a passionate emotion.

옛 여자친구와 싸우는 대목에서는 목청을 높여 "닥쳐, 닥치란 말 안들리냔 말야"의 대사를 소화했다.

이어 "연기자들이 외모도 뛰어나지만 다들 순수하고 착하다"며 "키로 시청률 경쟁을 한다면 우리 연기자들의 평균 키만으로도 1위를 할 것"이라며 농담을 섞어 흡족함을 표시했다.
And she expressed complacence in a mix of joke, “The performers are great in appearances, but they are all pure and kind-hearted. By the way, if they compete with others in stature, our performers’ average height alone will win the first place.”

이날 대본연습은 간단히 햄버거로 끼니를 때우며 별다른 휴식시간 없이 여섯 시간을 꼬박 채우고 끝났다.
In this day’s script practice, they had a mealtime with hamburgers and practiced throughout the 6 hours without any special rest.

피곤을 호소한 비와 김사랑을 제외한 다른 출연진들과 김 PD, 이 작가는 인근 삼겹살집에서 늦은 저녁을 먹으며 단합을 약속했다.
The other performers and PD Gim and scriptwriter Lee, except Rain who expressed his fatigue and Gim Sarang, went to a nearby bacon restaurant and had a late supper promising their unity.

한편 이들은 다음날인 10일 다른 연기자들이 가세한 가운데 총연습을 가진 후, 오는 15일 첫 촬영에 돌입할 계획이다.
Meanwhile, after the rehearsal with the other performing members’ joining on 10th of the next day, they will take to the first shooting on coming September 15th.

Even Rain and Jay's respective companies, managers, and the three companies (Pepsi, DHC, One2Free) have sadly become criticism targets. Internet forums have been mainly focusing their attack on how Rain has been taking Jay's campaigns one by one incessantly. (Singtao Daily news) Coming from Taiwan and Korea, thousands of fans, F4 and Rain were all invited to come to attend to Disney Hongkong¡¦s opening ceremonies, with the Disney team wishing to fetch them through a chartered plane when they invited them to come to Hong Kong, and for which all of them are entirely busy with work, a few days ago, they formally declined the invitation.. At one time they went to Disney USA, F4 said they won¡¦t forget that wonderful experience.

Disney Hong Kong will formally open late next evening with anime performance, the heads leading the rites and a Disney concert. Originally invited to attend the performance, F4 and Rain were among those in the list of famous artists, and according to sources, the Disney side had done it in very good faith. Earlier, they expressed that they wished to invite F4 and Rain to come to the opening event via a chartered flight. But for Rain, because he is shooting for his new series in Korea, he had earlier declined the invitation.

When it Rains in Hong Kong, it pours.

This hunky K-popster caused pandemonium in Fragrant Harbour earlier this week when he visited as the new face of Japanese skincare brand, DHC.

But reports have it that he has an even bigger ambition - to replace Taiwanese R&B prince Jay Chou's royal status in the country.

In just two months since he launched his album in Asia, Rain, 23, has become such a pop phenomenon that he managed to snatch the DHC deal from its former spokesman, Jay.

Rain inked the US$800,000 ($1.3 million) deal in Hong Kong on Sunday, then stayed another four days to shoot a TV commercial in Saikung - with the paparazzi and fans all hot on his heels, of course.

Now, talk has it that Rain's managers have convinced another major advertiser, Hong Kong telecommunications company One2Free, to drop Jay for their charge.

Next target? Pepsi or Panasonic?

But when quizzed by reporters about his rivalry with Jay, Rain said he has never met the latter. But he has heard that Jay is an outstanding singer.

Instead, Rain was more concerned about his concert in Hong Kong next month. He said he is busy learning Mandarin and Cantonese, and plans to perform a Cantonese number.

CRI Exclusive by Shen Min - South Korean star Rain will hold his first solo concert in Beijing on October 22nd at the Worker's Stadium.

Jointly held by Chinese entertainment giants, China Record Company-HK Emperor Entertainment Group(中唱英皇) and the Taiwan Jushi Music(巨室音乐) , the concert will surely catch eyes of millions of Beijing fans.

The concert tickets have not gone on public sale yet until September 15th, but fans in Beijing have already started a ticket-snatching frenzy.

Rain's Hong Kong concert was so hot at last weekend as chaos erupted everywhere he went and ticekts were sold out only several hours after it started.

Rain also announced last week that he will hold his very first tour of Asia next summer. It is expected to cover 20 cities including the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Singapore.

Full House, the drama which Rain and singer Hye Gyo co-starred in, propelled Rain to stardom in Asia this year.

Famous Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow expressed his wish to meet singer Rain, who visited Hong Kong Sept. 4-8 to film TV commercials for a Japanese cosmetics brand. Chow even planned to rent a private jet to invite Rain to the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Disneyland, but the singer had to politely turn down the invitation due to busy filming schedules. "[I have never met Mr. Chow] but I am his fan. I would love to meet him next time I visit Hong Kong,¡± said Rain.

After successfully finishing his Budokan concerts in Japan on Sept. 2-3, Rain participated in a cosmetics brand promotion event held in downtown Hong Kong on Sept. 4. Police had to block traffic on nearby streets due to the crowds of people who flocked to see the singer. Rain was greeted with a chorus of cheers when he arrived in a sports car. He gave a brief interview to the host of the event onstage and after watching a traditional Hong Kong lion mask dance, participated in a dragon eye-drawing ceremony.

Immediately after the ceremony, Rain held a press conference that was attended by multitudes of journalists from various corners of Asia, including Hong Kong, China and Singapore. "I want to introduce the diverse aspects of Korean culture to the world and work with other Asian artists to promote cultural exchange," said Rain at the conference.

On Sept. 5, the singer had a photo session for the cosmetics brand, and on Sept. 6-7 filmed TV commercials. His female partner, a British-Hong Kong woman, who filmed the commercials with the singer in an affluent area located within a one-hour-drive from downtown Hong Kong, complimented Rain as "handsome-looking."

The competiton between Taiwanese heavenly king Jay Chou and Korean pop Prince Rain has taken a new form, from 'fighting' over spokesmenship of various companies, to two groups of internet fans fighting over their idols, using very harsh and vulgar wording.
A fan who deemed him/herself as a loyal Jay fan counted five big crimes Rain 'committed' on the net, saying, 'Using evil tactics to take away Jay's ad campaigns', attacking his physical looks saying, 'He has horrible looks', 'Tiny Eyes' (um, hello, Jay has tiny eyes too?! ), 'Unsightly singing and dancing', 'Super Hateful' and even with rude words 'X you Rain!'. Some even went to extremes in boycotting the products he is now endorsing.

The powress of Rain has been expanding uncontrollably in Asia, and even since he joined the Pepsi stable to join Jay to be a 'Blue-blooded person' there have been rumours about fierce competition. When DHC admitted to 'Giving up Jay for Rain', Rain has already become Hate Target #1 amongst Jay fans, and again Rain has replaced Jay with a $400 0000 HK fee for endorsing One2Free. This instantly sparked atrocity between the two legions of fans, and the fight on the internet has been getting harsher and harsher.

Manager is not responding

Even Rain and Jay's respective companies, managers, and the three companies (Pepsi, DHC, One2Free) have sadly become criticism targets. Internet forums have been mainly focusing their attack on how Rain has been taking Jay's campaigns one by one incessantly. THe fans have become emotionally very involved, complaining about how Alfa is not doing its best to protect Jay's contracts and just letting them slip by one by one, and also writing essay-length criticisms on how Rain and her manager have used inethical tactics to 'steal away' Jay's contracts, also vowing to stop using the involved products.

Rain's high popularity in HK has even alarmed Stephen Chow!

It was reported in a Korean newspaper that during the period Rain was in HK filming the DHC commercial, Stephen Chow had expressed that he would like to meet up with Rain. However, due to Rain's fully-packed schedule, the meet-up did not go through. When asked to talk about Stephen Chow, Rain expressed: "I"m also a fan of his. Next time when I go HK, I'll definitely pay him a visit."

Come next mth, Rain will be holding his concert in HK. All the concert tickets were snapped up within an hour of the start of the public sale, and amidst the queue of buyers outside the ticketing offices, we spotted some middle-aged men as well as grannies who were at least 70-yr old or above. There were even people who started queuing 2-3 days back. Internet bids has already reached HKD3000 for a concert ticket, which originally cost HKD580.

비와 신민아 등 KBS2 '이 죽일 놈의 사랑'(가제, 극본 이경희•연출 김규태)의 출연진들이 장장 여섯시간에 걸쳐 첫 대본연습을 가졌다.
The persons to perform in the KBS-2 Drama ‘This Detestable Love’(Provisional Title, scriptwriter: Lee Kyeonghui, Producer: Gim Gyutae) such as Rain and Shin Mina had their first script-practicing time for long 6 hours.

이날 대본 연습은 김 PD와 이 작가가 캐릭터에 대한 설명과 함께, 각각의 대사 톤을 일일이 대화로 잡아주며 화기애애한 분위기에서 이루어졌다.
Together with Gim PD and scriptwriter Lee's explaining the characters and correcting each performer’s speech tone through talking, this day’s script practice was carried in a happy and harmonious atmosphere.

젊은 연기자들이 모인 만큼 금세 서로에게 익숙해져 종종 웃음소리가 터져 나오기도 했다.
As young performers gathered, they soon got so accustomed to each other they would break into laughter at times.

이날 대본연습은 간단히 햄버거로 끼니를 때우며 별다른 휴식시간 없이 여섯 시간을 꼬박 채우고 끝났다.

Asia Music Festival to invite Rain & ShinHwa

This year's [Asia Pacific Economic Summit Meeting] will be held at Pusan on 12th November. Pusan province minister has planned to organize [The 2nd Asia Music Festival] the night before the Summit Meeting. They intend to invite singers from Korea, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia etc to attend this festival.

Korean singer Rain has made it into the pages of the current affairs magazine Time Asia, a sure first step to international iconic status. The K-pop star has not yet made the cover but at least had a feature devoted all to himself.

The Sept. 19 edition of Time ran a piece titled "A Korean Force of Nature" on Rain's attempts to break into the overseas market.

It cited the string of hits Rain has produced in the three years since his debut and his enormous popularity with female fans in Korea and beyond, which culminated in the MTV Video Music Award in China and sold-out performances in Japan and Hong Kong.

The magazine predicts Rain’s fame will increase further when he stars in a new TV drama next month titled "A Love to Kill", which features the boyish singer as a macho kick boxer.

Meanwhile, Rain will perform on Oct. 8-9 at the 10,000-seater Hong Kong Convention Center, and then at the 40,000-capacity Workers' Stadium in Beijing on Oct. 22.

The Asian edition of the U.S. magazine “Time” wrote on Sept. 12 that singer Rain is poised to establish his presence in the U.S. market. "[Rain is now] ready to branch out overseas,” wrote the magazine, which interviewed the singer in late August.

Time introduced Rain as a popular star who has created a massive female fan base in just three years not only in Korea but in the entire Asian region, has won various music awards from MTV Asia, and has given successful concerts in Japan and Hong Kong.

The magazine ascribed the singer’s popularity to Korean TV dramas, “the engine of Korean pop-culture dominance in Asia,” and wrote extensively on a KBS TV2 drama scheduled to premiere in October in which Rain plays the lead.

"But why stop there? Rain's managers believe he could be the first Korean star to break into the U.S. market,” wrote the magazine.

The magazine also introduced Rain’s producer and mentor Park Jin-young, who discovered Rain’s talent and introduced him to U.S. production companies, landing him high-profile projects with popular American stars such as Will Smith. It also revealed that Rain was scheduled to record a song with hip-hop artist Lil’ Kim, but the project was scrapped due to the latter’s legal troubles. Jeong Wook, Rain’s overseas project manager, said in his interview with Time that the project simply faced “ a minor setback,” adding, “We're targeting the global market. Rain's too big for Asia.”

The September edition of “Time” featuring the story on Rain will be available in Korea on Sept. 14.

After his visit to Hong Kong earlier this month, Rain returned to Korea to start shooting for the new drama, at the same time he was selected by Asia edition as being the most potential Korean star.
On 19th this month, the new issue of Asia magazine, under the article on Movie/TV, entitled [A Korean Force of Nature], which Rain was featured with detail writeup on his popular status overseas. The article cited that in just 3 short years since Rain’s debut, his popular hit songs have achieved great popularity among Korean female fans, followed by overseas market; this year he has even received an award from China MTV Music Award. In Japan and Hong Kong his concert tickets were sold out, showing signs of him gaining enormous popularity in Asia. Currently Rain has the intention to establish his presence in America market, a prospect of being the most potential Korean Mega-star.
Meanwhile, the new KBS TV drama [A Love to Kill] which is schedule to be broadcasted in November which Rain and Shin Mina are the main leads. KBS TV station has earlier broadcasted both Rain and Shin Mina character outlook which will be featured in this new drama. In this program, the usual masculine Rain looked much thinner but his body is still very well-toned. Being excellent in his dancing skill, the way he pulled his punches looked real and convincing.

Tight Working Schedule caused Fatigue
Besides shooting TV drama, Rain’s popularity has vastly penetrated the overseas market. After completing his Japan Budokan concert and the recent visit to Hong Kong to shoot a commercial for DHC, he returned to Korea to start working on the new TV drama. With all these tight working schedule, Rain has showed signs of fatigue during the recent practice of scrip-reading session. This is his 3rd TV drama which he acts a completely different role from the previous ones. With the broadcast of this new TV drama, it is anticipated that his popularity status will definitely attain a higher stage.

Time: Rain Ready to Branch Out Overseas

The Asian edition of the U.S. magazine Time wrote on Sept. 12 that singer Rain is poised to establish his presence in the U.S. market. "[Rain is now] ready to branch out overseas, wrote the magazine, which interviewed the singer in late August.

Time introduced Rain as a popular star who has created a massive female fan base in just three years not only in Korea but in the entire Asian region, has won various music awards from MTV Asia, and has given successful concerts in Japan and Hong Kong.

The magazine ascribed the singer's popularity to Korean TV dramas, the engine of Korean pop-culture dominance in Asia, and wrote extensively on a KBS TV2 drama scheduled to premiere in October in which Rain plays the lead.

"But why stop there? Rain's managers believe he could be the first Korean star to break into the U.S. market, wrote the magazine.

The magazine also introduced Rain's producer and mentor Park Jin-young, who discovered Rain's talent and introduced him to U.S. production companies, landing him high-profile projects with popular American stars such as Will Smith. It also revealed that Rain was scheduled to record a song with hip-hop artist Lil Kim, but the project was scrapped due to the latte's legal troubles. Jeong Wook, Rain's overseas project manager, said in his interview with Time that the project simply faced a minor setback, adding, We're targeting the global market. Rain's too big for Asia.

The September edition of Time featuring the story on Rain will be available in Korea on Sept. 14.

K-Pop Star Rain Makes Time Magazine

Korean singer Rain has made it into the pages of the current affairs magazine Time Asia, a sure first step to international iconic status. The K-pop star has not yet made the cover but at least had a feature devoted all to himself.

The Sept. 19 edition of Time ran a piece titled "A Korean Force of Nature" on Rain's attempts to break into the overseas market.

It cited the string of hits Rain has produced in the three years since his debut and his enormous popularity with female fans in Korea and beyond, which culminated in the MTV Video Music Award in China and sold-out performances in Japan and Hong Kong.

The magazine predicts Rain’s fame will increase further when he stars in a new TV drama next month titled "A Love to Kill", which features the boyish singer as a macho kick boxer.

Meanwhile, Rain will perform on Oct. 8-9 at the 10,000-seater Hong Kong Convention Center, and then at the 40,000-capacity Workers' Stadium in Beijing on Oct. 22.

Highlights from YaShimManMan Part 2:

Part 1 ended with a teaser that there was something Bi was told never to do when he was starting out.
The answer given at the beginning of Part 2— he was told never to smile on stage.
Why, because singers usually are more attractive and charismatic onstage when their eyes are sparkling, etc.
and Bi was told because he had small eyes, he shouldn’t smile ‘cuz then they’d become smaller and the
light wouldn’t be able to shine through. He was told to open his eyes as wide as possible for the
entire time he was on stage. Some things the other guys were told never to do when starting out—
‘open his mouth’, ‘take off your sunglasses’ (the other singer with small eyes).

One of the two guys who was pretending all throughout Part 1 to be attracted to Bi was giving an
example of being out with a girlfriend in the rain, and when he said the word rain (bi), he stopped,
hung his head and wondered out loud why everything that comes out of his mouth has “bi” in it.
So he changes his story to… “like when there’s a lot of water coming from the heavens…”

The part where Bi cuts in with announcements about his 3rd album. Not really sure but I think Bi
referred to a part where they were talking about editing before, and then he cut-in with the
“Everyone, my 3rd album’s out” and then asks, “that won’t be edited out, will it?” Seems like he was
just being playful. The guy in stripped jacket then cuts in and says, “Wait a minute, then mine’s
out next month.”

One of the questions they had to guess the top answers to was: “On a date, I like this kind of
PDA (public displays of affection).” The stripped-jacket says he thinks he could kiss all day, esp.
since they say it’s good for your health. Then Bi says the part about preferring short kisses/pecks,
which he could do all day long, to deep kisses. For Bi, deep kissing signifies that you’re giving
your all to the other person. The two guys across from him are acting out what Bi is saying as
he’s replying.

Later on, the MC reveals one of the answers to a question about the kind of guy a girl’s attracted to:
‘One that hides your back when you’re walking up the stairs in a short skirt.’
MC acts out what a bad guy would do (try to sneak a peak) and the two guys start teasing the MC about
seeming too realistic in acting that out. One of the guys said, “I really thought you were going up the
stairs” and the other guy says “You made me want to look up too.” Then the stripped-jacket brings out a
mirror and says, “A really bad guy would do this (put the mirror under the skirt)” and everyone breaks
out into uncontrollable laughter (must have missed something because it was funny but not THAT funny).

Bi tries to guess one of the answers to “I’ve broken up with friends over this”—when a friend calls
only after he or she has broken up with significant other. He prepares to get blown but others say
it’s right so no need to worry…but he prepares anyway…and then uses the opportunity to say again
“My 3rd album’s out…” Someone asks him to show the most important part of his 3rd album and he does
the “shh ha.” Can’t make out what the crowd is saying behind him but someone tell him to assume a
dashing pose. Wrong answer so gets blown anyways. Later on, Bi guesses again, correctly this time--
someone who calls you only to borrow money. Bi tells a story about a fight he got into in jr. hi
with someone over money. After telling the story, he looks over at the two guys with a “Yes?”
expression. < Just a cute moment.> Another correct answer was—when my friend constantly acts like
he’s better than me. Everyone was given a chance to brag about themselves, and when it was Bi’s turn,
he brags about how he doesn’t need sunglasses when it’s sunny or goggles when he’s snowboarding
(because all he has to do is squint)…and then slyly says…and I dance a little…and sing a little…and
then he gives high fives. When it’s the other young singer’s turn, that guy says …I do a little of that
too. The guy on the other side brags that he can speak English and starts speaking Korean in an
Americanized accent and starts dropping names like Michael Jordan. Everyone’s cracking up…

The part where Bi chokes on water before he answers…answering the question if he ever got hit on by a
friend’s gf, and he started saying “there was this time when my boyfriend (think he meant my male friend
but came out like that) and the audience goes crazy and the two guys that have been “hinting” that
they’re attracted to Bi starts having a field day with that and asks him why it took him a week to fess up,
etc. MC asks the guy in stripped jacket how he feels now that Bi has come clean and he smiles and says
of course I feel good. After they stop laughing, Bi continues to tell his story—he went out to the movies
with his friend and his friend’s gf, and afterwards, she calls him and starts asking him questions about
his friend. Eventually, without realizing, they start being playful and getting closer, so Bi tells her
(even though he wasn’t really opposed to what they were doing) because he was really good friends with him,
that they shouldn’t be talking like this ‘cuz she has a bf and he (Bi) might misunderstand her intentions
and she replies “It’s ok to misunderstand…” Bi thinks this couple is still together and he heard through
the grapevine that they might get married…Bi takes credit for that (laughs). Says the lesson he learned
from that is that it’s probably not a good idea to introduce a gf to a friend by himself. Ok if it’s two
couples, etc.

End by playing the game ‘Of course”. Point is to ask the person a question that you know will embarrass
them, but they have to say “of course” as their answer. Stripped-jacket guy asks the guy next to him:
“That time you were pretending to brag, that’s really you, huh?” To the MC, the guy asks,
“That time 10 years ago when you came over to my house, you stole gum and frames, etc that my fans gave
to me, huh?” To the other young singer: “You play soccer not because you’re good at it but because you
like it, huh?” Then he returns the favor by asking that guy, “You regret getting married, huh?” at
which point the guy sitting next to stripped jacket starts saying things like “Oh my God, Oh my Jesus”
and the guy that was asked the question gets up and says he has to take a break. Last question to Bi,
the stripped-jacket asks him, “You want to come live with me, huh?” Bi looks him straight in the face
and tries to answer but laughs and says “…I don’t want to answer that…” Bi gets to ask him something
and he says “You realize I’m still in my 20s?” Other guy continues and says, “If I weren’t already married,
you’d marry me, wouldn’t you?” (Soooo funny!!! This WAS side-splitting funny!) Later the stripped-jacket
asks if this is all really going to be broadcast, and when one guy says “it already has”
the stripped-jacket says, “’Cuz they turned my camera off” at which point everyone starts
laughing hysterically.

RAIN: Yes. I am so grateful for that. I heard that Budokan is the place for the world famous artists. Thus, I am so honored.
Yes, I think it will be a very pleasing concert today.

Q: Why do they call you “Pi” in Japan?
RAIN: Yes, it’s Pi. Well, it’s rather funny… Mr. Bae, YongJun is called “Yon-sama”, which is stylish. But me, “Pi-sama”. [laughs] My real name is Jeong, JiHun: so, how about calling me “Ji-sama”?

(*translator's note1: /pi/ means “blood” in Korean.)
(*translator's note2: Japanese pronunciation doesn’t have Korean ‘b’ which is devoiced- i.e. no vibration, so that it has substituted ‘p’ for ‘b’. As results, RAIN (Bi) became ‘blood’ (Pi).

▲ Currently, the 4th album is on the composing step. By and by, we are putting out an album aiming at the world market. By recording a new song into English version as well in the 4th album (that will come out September next year), I am planning on con-releasing it in Asia. And I am releasing a single album in Japan (next January.) In the coming performance, I will be singing the existing songs that were released domestically.
Q: How great popularity do you think you have in China?
