Rain will decide to star in the film of director Park Chan Ook soon

It’s getting more attention whether Rain will join in the film of famous director Park Chan Ook or not. On Dec. 6, “Director Park, Rain, & interested persons already had a meeting to discuss about starring in his new film on Nov.” Rain’s agent, JYP Entertainment announced.

A managing director of JYP, Cho Hye Seong said, “we could not decide yet because we had not got a scenario but it will be shot from March, so we will decide as soon as possible after we review a scenario.”

It will be a big issue if Asia heartthrob Rain stars in the new film of director Park Chan Ook. It will be his debut because he could not make his first appearance in the film ‘a Fighter of Wind’ for some reasons of production.

The tile of his new melodramatic film is known as ‘I’m a cyborg but it’s ok’ after ‘Kind Gumja-si’.

Shown excellent performance in ‘Full House’ and ‘Sangdoo, Let’s go to School’, Rain is now acting in ‘a Love to Kill’ at KBS 2TV.

BEIJING, Dec. 7 -- South Korean singer and actor Rain is now one of Pepsi's celebrity spokespersons in China.

He is the first non-Chinese pop star the company has chosen to speak for their products in the Chinese-language community.

It is acknowledgedthat Rain’s new role as a spokesperson for Pepsi is proof of his unchallenged influence and popularity in China. Previous Asian spokespersons for Pepsi include the now disbanded Taiwanese pop band F4, Taiwan singer Jay Chow and Hong Kong artist Edison Chan.

Friends Concert perf will be omitted from national broadcast - Sport Chosun 08.12.2005
For the sake of focusing on "Kang Bok Gu", popular singer Rain sacrifices an appearance on national tv. Although he performed on stage as a singer at the <2005 Korea-Japan Friends Concert> on 6th Dec, but this performance of his will not be seen within the country. On that day, Rain, who have not appeared as a singer for quite some time, performed a stream of songs - <Bad Guy>, , and <It's Raining>, sending the fans into a wild frenzy. However, he has requested MBC not to broadcast his segment of the concert.

MBC will be broadcasting that day's concert on the 25th but Rain's segment will be omitted. When this news was revealed, fans of Rain and channel KBS2's drama series <IJUKSA> immediately expressed their suspicions through leaving messages on the Internet.

Fans expressed angrily "MBC cannot omit Rain's segment just because he acted in a KBS drama", however JYP Entertainment, the management agency which Rain belongs to, expressed that this arrangement was agreed on right from the beginning as they do not want to ruin the image of "Kang Bok Gu" in the series.

JYP side expressed "If Rain switch back to his singer role at the peak of the drama broadcast, it'll spoil the image of the character in the show. Hence, to focus on the drama, this arrangement was agreed upon when we discussed the possibility of him performing in the concert." But they added on and expressed "In Japan, Rain is taking the role of a singer, hence we are agreeable to whatever NHK decides to broadcast."

Patty Hou & Rain to act in <Legend of the Condor Heroes>? - Taiwan Apple Daily 12.12.2005

Patty Hou will be trying out her hand in her virgin drama role, and it's rumored that Rain will be the male lead. Such a fresh combination, but they are not going to act in an idol drama, instead it's going to be the classic - <Legend of the Condor Heroes>. As understood, Asia Plus has already approached Jin Yong regarding copyright issues, and if everything goes smoothly, the filming will start next year, at the earliest.

The "Jin Yong" craze is hitting Asia once again. China's Central Channel will be showing <Legend of the Condor Heroes>, starring Huang Xiaoming & Liu Yifei during the new year period next year, and now, Asia Plus has too jumped on the wagon and laid their eyes on the same script. It is said that they have approached Jin Yong regarding copyright issues, as well as laid out that their leads will be Patty Hou (27 years old) and Rain (23 years old), between which the 4 year age difference is similar to the 6-7 years gap between the 2 leads in the novel.

But when we approached Asia Plus regarding the authenticity of this information, they replied rather cautiously that they have plans to film this drama, and that they are still discussing the copyright issues. Only after they have obtained the necessary copyright, then will they decide on the lead actors. They have not approached Rain as of yet.

If Asia Plus manages to obtain the copyright with HKD$1 million (approx NT$4.2 million), Korea will be the filming location. Other than making it easier for Rain, they have also considered that in the past (when they did filming for period dramas in China), flight transfers alone take up half the day, and it'll be most convenient for Patty, who has to juggle her hosting job in taiwan, to fly straight to Korea. Also, recently, the "Taiwan craze" and "Hallyu wave" is pretty popular in Japan, and this combination too takes into consideration of the Japanese's willingness to purchase foreign films/dramas. Actors from Japan & Hongkong have been targetted for the other roles.

With regards to acting out "Xiao Long Nu", Patty Hou said: "Sure! I will not insist on taking on any specific role, just as long as the role is good. If I really am acting as Xiao Long Nu, I hope that the script will be completely different from the past typical romance script, but rather more on the comical side just like the rental couple in the movie <Kung fu>. Only then will it leave a deep impression on the audience."

On the 9th, Kyung Hee University announced that Bi was accepted into Art Fusion Graduate School at the end of 2005. Now Bi will join god's Kim Tae Woo, moviestar Jung Joon Ho, and other stars on the Kyung Hee campus.

Rain’s another feature is to cover all generations. After general recognition through a drama, to explode its popularity by a concert is his gradual strategy. Singer Rain, who this year swept Japan, China and Southeast Asia, will make inroads into the U.S. market next year. He will give a solo concert on Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. at the New York Madison Square Garden Theater.

Rain staged his concert program entitled กฐRainy Dayกฑ in Seoul, Japan, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and finally received recognition for his talent beyond the Asian region. The New York Madison Square Garden is a renowned performance hall where every American artist aspires to perform at least once.

The U.S. MTV has shown great interest in Rain after he won the Grand Slam prize at the Asia MTV award ceremony, which was held last February in Thailand. wow! humahataw tlga c bi..sa US pla concert nia dis feb..i thought d2 sa pinas..hahahah!:D as early as dec. 19 mag uumpisa na clang mag benta ng ticket knowing na sa feb pa xa mag coconcert..im sure sold out na nman yan!

Thank you, I watched the last episode thursday. It was great. Some are saying that rumors are passing that there maybe a second series to full house.

But getting back on topic..............

Rain is coming to america, I'm excited. I won't be able to go that's for certain because I don't live in new york. I would love to go but I don't have enough money to fly there or I would. I was born here in america so It's hard to go to overseas concerts even though these are the ones I want to see the most. I love jpop, kpop, cpop and pop as well. Oh well, It's nice to dream though right. I wonder do they give backstage passes to meet him. How much do those usually cost or are they buyable?

hello mrs takizawa...i dont know about the second full house, i guess i like to see bi-shk in a diff series, but even if they cant pair in that kind of show, a small mini series is ok like banjun drama;) we are still waiting for you to join us in full house thread. good luck on seeing bi's concerts in US.

ok, first things first. the US concert. sana sold out. and i wish hindi lng mga asians ang manood. i think me mga talent scouts din dun from us and maybe just maybe me makadiscover na sa talent nya. although i have reservations sa response ng US market since hindi nga english ung songs nya. but i think bi can charm anything even hous pets so i don't hva to worry.

Thanks, cokebi. The concert tickets aren't available until the 19th of december down here. That's tomorrow. There are no use in me buying one because I can't get to new york or I'd definately go. I mean what are the odds of him ever coming back to the united states for another concert in the near future? Ahh!! This is driving me nuts! I've never been to any kind of event like that before, when will It be my turn! *Has a fit like SHK.*

Anyways, I will go to the full house forum now. I still hate that rain is going to the army/military for two years. I hope he won't have to fight in a war, that would drive me to insanity worrying about his safety. Why didn't he just pay to go to dance school instead of going that way? That's much dangerous.

about the military/army, im sure if that day comes, we will be prepared. all of us will be worried if bi will join the war/battle if ever:(

Hi Tarong,

regarding Lee Byung hun shi, sana naman wag nyo syang alipustahin. hehehehe. Maka-LBH ako, 2nd(although, a distant 2nd) ko sya kay Bi. I've seen most of his movies, and his series Beautiful Days, at talaga naman he is one of Korea's best male actors...truly a sight to watch. As for the SHK-LBH breakup, well, I guess since maka-LBH ako, obvious kung kanino ako mas sympathetic. Basta watch his movies and you might even start to like him. Ganon ako ka-confident sa acting skills nya.

As for Bi shi, kahit sinong babae na makapagsasaya sa kanya, boto ako.:D If Bi is happy, I'm happy.:cool:

Korean heavenly king, Rain sings a chinese song, gives his 1st time to Lee Hom. The 2 heavenly kings is dueting on <Wan2 Mei3 De4 Hu3 Dong4>!

Some time back, it was exclusively reported on our newspaper that Lee Hom has managed to get Rain to sing a duet on his new album. The news of this collaboration took the chinese pop music industry by storm. With Rain's help, Lee Hom has already attracted great attention to his album, amidst the list of albums to be released this year end.

SONY-BMG, the record company which Lee Hom belongs to, announced yesterday that Lee Hom & Rain will duet on a chinese number <Wan2 Mei3 De4 Hu3 Dong4>. In the song, Rain sings in 3 different languagues - Mandarin, English & Korean, displaying his flair for languages. Through romanising the chinese lyrics, Rain memorised the pronunciation and sang in chinese, giving his 1st time to Lee Hom.

When asked about how this collaboration came about, Lee Hom expressed that he got to know Rain's producer Hitman when he went to Korea to attend an awards ceremony last year. It was through Hitman that this collaboration was able to take place.

The duet <Wan2 Mei3 De4 Hu3 Dong4> was produced by Lee Hom. Lee Hom has nothing but praises for Rain: "Rain managed to memorise the lyrics really fast, and his pronunciation was very clear. There was no korean accent at all."

Although it's a duet between the 2, but as both of them were very busy, the recording of the song was done separately, and they only managed to meet a few times. The common view towards Korean men is that they are very chauvinistic, but after having met Rain, Lee Hom said: "Rain always has a smile on his face. He is very well-mannered."

Singer Rain (23) has made headlines, as his Chinese song "Perfect Harmony" (Wanmeidi Hudong, 完美的互動) which he sang jointly with top Taiwanese singer Lee-hom Wang (or Wang Lihong, 王力宏), has been featured in Wang's latest album entitled "Gaishi Yingxiong" (盖世英雄, An Outstanding Hero).

It remains to be seen how fans will respond to their duet, because Rain sang the song in Korea first, and Wang sang his own version to to be mixed in later due to their busy schedules.

Wang praised Rain for showing his unique talents by singing the song with a perfect Chinese accent, adding he was impressed by Rain's dancing and singing ability.

The latest joint album production was arranged by Bang Shi-hyuk, a well-known Korean album producer. Rain and Wang have never met each other in person.

Wang is expected to attend the second round of Rain's concerts to be held in Taiwan on Dec. 30. The album "Gaishi Yingxiong" will likely come into the spotlight when it is introduced at a presentation and press conference on Dec. 29.

Thank you and I will do so. I'm happy about there collaboration CD/song. Rain is really popular. I hope he stays in america longer than just for the concert on febuary 2nd. I hope this means that he will be in america more often. This way I can see him once. Maybe I take up college in korea one day just to be closer to where he is most of the time before touring. He seems pretty sociable with his fans.

Fantastic Rain Falling upon Thailand, Rain to Held his Solo Concert Next Year

Asian star Rain holds his first Thailand concert since debut in the IMPACT Arena Concert Hall Bangkok Thailand February 26th next year.

This day's concert is the second concert ? of course, Rain's exclusive concert - that succeeds to the first Rainy Day held in the tile of An Evening with Rain in New York February 2nd 2006.

Thailand will be the 7th rain-falling country in succession to American next year after Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan this year.

This coming performance to be named Rainy Day in BKK will be covered by the Channel 7 too, the biggest ground-wave broadcasting station in Thailand.

The Channel 7 telecasted Rain's appearing drama Full House on the spot of Thailand and plans to telecast A Love to Kill as well.

It has now become almost a practice that Rain's performances are bidden like an attempt for hosting World Cup or Olympic Game, said a JYP-concerned person,

"That is, if a performance of a certain area is first planned, then many countries around there submit their letters of request hoping to host the concert. If one country is decided among them, the country's promoters make their proposals. One hosting party among them is selected. This is how it is.

He added, Thailand was the strongest rival country before Taiwan performance in January.

The underdog Thailand badly attempted once again and succeeded in hosting this coming concert. 15-something promoters in Thailand alone have sent us letters of proposal.

Meanwhile, Bangkok the capital of Thailand in the second month of 2006 has row-after-row of big stars, as if the place is the contest between world-famous glittering stars.

Such performances as British rock group Oasis, world-famous techno group Prodigy, and so forth have been decided in sequence. Rain’s album records sales of over one million copies in Asia

The third album from singer Rain, entitled “It's Raining,” has recorded sales of over one million copies in seven Asian countries, including Korea.

According to a report on Rain’s success in Asia submitted by the singer’s agency, JYP Entertainment, to the Korea Culture & Content Agency, some 920,000 copies of Rain’s third album have been sold this year in Japan (100,000 copies), China (500,000 copies), Hong Kong (50,000 copies), Taiwan (70,000 copies), Thailand (150,000 copies) and Indonesia (50,000 copies). The total number of copies exceeds one million--or 1.074 million to be exact--if the 154,000 copies of the album sold in Korea since its release in October are also taken into account.

Moreover, Rain’s Asian tour entitled “Rainy Day” drew 130,000 viewers from July to December of this year: 12,000 people in Tokyo; 8,000 people in Osaka; 20,000 people in Budokan; 20,000 people in Hong Kong and 40,000 people in Beijing. Thirty thousand tickets to Rain’s concert slated for Dec. 29-30 in Taipei, Taiwan have been sold out as well. If the 12,000 people who watched Rain’s concert in Seoul and the 10,000 people who attended his concert in Busan this year are also taken into account, a total of 152,000 people in Asia have seen the singer’s concerts this year.

Next year, Rain will prove his status as a performing artist when he holds concerts in New York, USA, on Feb. 2-3 and in Bangkok, Thailand, on Feb. 26.

In the report, JYP Entertainment wrote that the current global showbiz standards require that stars possess the ability to be “multi-entertainers,” as was the case with the Taiwanese group F4, Hong Kong star Andy Lau, and Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez. "'One-source-multi-use' stars are in high demand in the Asian market, which is used to multi-entertainers,” said the report.

The report also calls for the implementation of an overseas partnership bank or database to eliminate hurdles in selecting overseas partners due to the lack of information on entertainers’ activities abroad. The selection of the right partner is crucial for creating an appropriate image of a star in a certain country and, therefore, producing profits and unearthing new opportunities.

JYP entertainment’s report also describes Rain’s future goals and prospects. According to the report, the singer will release his first single album in Japan in January and launch its promotion. In September, he will release his fourth full-length album concurrently in Korea and other Asian countries. To achieve his ultimate goal of establishing a presence in the global showbiz market, the singer will hold a large-scale concert tour of the entire Asian region.

"Rain’s album is a big hit in the Chinese-speaking region. Estimates say that more than 500,000 copies have been sold in China, but no one knows the exact figure,” said Chung Wook, chief of JYP Entertainment’s Overseas Business Division, who was visiting Hong Kong to attend a ceremony appointing Rain as Pepsi Cola’s model. He added that the TV series “Let’s Go, Sang-doo” and “Full House,” both starring Rain, have recorded the highest viewer ratings in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Taiwan.

The agency expects Rain to produce even more impressive results next year.

S. Korean singer Bi wants emotional connection with Asian fans

TAIPEI, Dec. 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean singer Bi says he wants to reach out to his fans abroad and is ready to do everything for that, including stripping on stage.

The last thing he would do is to "be a mannequin" that smiles and poses for photographs.

Bi, also known by his English name Rain in Asia, tore off his shirt sleeves during a concert in Taipei Thursday night, adding fuel to the heated hall crowded by 13,000 fans. He danced with the upper part of his immaculate body fully naked.

"In a concert you should do your best with what you can. Some may say it isn't an ability to take off clothes, but I think I should do things that I can, that others dare not," Bi, 23, told reporters Friday ahead of the last performance of his two-day concert stint in Taipei.

The Asian heartthrob greeted Taiwanese fans in their language, saying "How are you? I am Rain," as he did in his previous gigs in Tokyo, Osaka, Budokan, Hong Kong and Beijing. For the Asian concert tour, which started in July, the singer learned basic expressions in the touring countries to appeal to his fans.

"The Chinese language has a different grammatical order than Korean, and it's difficult to learn. I'm now learning Japanese and Chinese as well as English, and it's like having exams," he said with a smile.

The singer, who debuted in Korea four years ago, has made a name throughout Asia with his splendid dancing, masculine physique and youthful smile. Many connect his popularity to the wave of Korean pop culture in Asia, called "hallyu" (Korean wave), but he does not want to get a free ride.

"Hallyu is not a bad thing, but I shouldn't stay with it. I want to be a star of the countries of my fans, talk to them and find similarities with them.

"So I started learning foreign languages. I really hate becoming a mannequin that goes to a foreign country to smile and pose for photographs," he said.

The singer appreciated the passionate response from his Taiwanese fans, some of whom lined up two days before the concert to reserve front-row seats. Only a brief power outage in the concert hall, which suspended his show for about 15 minutes, dissipated his energy.

"I hoped to show myself well, and there were many Asian artists who came to see it. The accident cut off the flow," he said.

The star, who was born in the year of dog in the Asian zodiac, which comes full circle in 2006, is upbeat about his career. He is to perform at the Madison Square Garden in New York, one of the main U.S. entertainment venues, where pop stars such as Elton John has performed, in February.

"It's like a dream," he said. "I'm so delighted to have a show that will invite my fans not only from Asia, but also from the United States and people in the recording industry there."

Happy new year to All!... I'm wishing Rain to have a successful concert sa new York.. Thanks nga pla sa mga pics.. so wafu and hot tlga nitong si bi.

I'm so dissapointed for the KBS awards, i'm expecting bi to win for best actor.. But its ok... For sure magiging maganda ang 2006 nya. Sobrang sikat sya overseas, sana more rainyday concerts pa. Kaso kelangan nya munang magrest, kawawa na health nya.. since fullhouse ala pa cya pahinga.. dba after nun... nag rainyday concert cya and album.. tapos biglang Ijuksa.. so ala tlga pahinga... nagkaron pa cya concert sabay sa ijuksa.. hay.. incredible tlga tong si bi.. the best.. napaka dedicated sa work. Parang hindi nappagod. Pero sana pumunta na sya d2 sa pinas. :)

Stars Born in the Year of the Dog

In 2006, stars born in the Year of the Dogs are planning to make themselves noteworthy for their achievements.

Stars born in 1982, including Rain, Hyun Bin, Han Ga-in, Kim Min-jeong, Kim A-joong, and Lee Jun-ki will compete with stars born in 1970 like Lee Byung-heon, Cha Seung-won, Jeong Jun-ho, Gam Woo-seong, and Kim Hye-soo who wish to solidify their status with their long career and experience.

The most promising star this year is Rain (24). Last year, his show "Rainy Day" was a hit in Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, propelling him to Asian stardom. As many as one million copies of his album were sold across Asia.

This year, his stage will be "globalized". Early this month, he will have an interview with the Thai media. On January 25 his first single, "Sad Tango," will debut in Japan. He will put on a concert in New York's Medison Square Garden on February 2, and in Bangkok, Thailand on February 25-26. In the second half of this year, he will release his fourth album in Korea and consider appearances in dramas or movies.

CNN's "Talk Asia" chose an interview with singer Rain that was recorded back in November as one of the show's best five interviews of 2005.

In other words, Rain was chosen as one of the five most prominent figures to appear on the show last year.

The New Year's edition of "Talk Asia," which comprised interviews with 20 people who appeared on the show last year, aired throughout the entire Asian region.

This special edition of "Talk Asia" was an annual wrap-up of the most meaningful events of the year 2005 that the show shared with its viewers, such as the South Asian tsunami, and entertainers and sports stars who rose to prominence in the global arena.

Aside from Rain, the five most prominent figures of the year included Philippines President Gloria Arroyo, Japanese soccer player Nakata Hitedoshi and Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow.

Rain's interview with the show's host, Lorraine Khan, was recorded on October 9 at the Renaissance Harbor View Hotel for about an hour and a half, and aired on CNN Nov. 19.

The New Year's edition of "Talk Asia" will air Jan. 7, Korean time (a rerun airs on Jan. 8).

i bought dvd of complete episode ng Full HOuse and im watching it again....hay naku, nakakainis lang dahil ang daming "moments" scenes....yung mga kunwari mag-iisip tapos buong 15 minutes ng yun lang. buti sana kung si Rain and Hye Kyo lahat yon.....

tapos i bought din yung "A Love to Kill".....meron na kayo non? Okay ba? meron bang story? for sure namang hindi lang kay Rain naka-focus yung camera (how i wish) kaya sana maganda rin yung storya. As for the "Sang-doo, Lets go to school"....iniisip ko pa kung bibilin ko. Hindi kasi ako natutuwa sa story eh. Siyaka hindi kagandahan yung girl...na upstage lang siya ni Rain...hehe

pasensya wala akong maipapamahagi about Rain.....bago pa lang akong maging sobrang fan. Rain made a fan out of me.....galing talaga niya! hehehe

o nga pala, you guys ever came across an online petition regarding RAIN? A couple of 200 plus people have signed it (including I) a petition for JYP Entertainment considering the other side of Asia to be visited by Rain. Kasi nga naman unlike yung Korea and Japan halos magkakalapit lang yon kaya parang walking distance sa mga hapon to go watch his concerts unlike tayo. Mas malaki ang gastos natin covering pa lang the distance we have to travel to go there.

I'll send the site address next time....malay nga natin diba? baka nga mapadala si Rain. :D

Rain’s album records sales of over one million copies in Asia (2005/12/28)

The third album from singer Rain", entitled “It's Raining,” has recorded sales of over one million copies in seven Asian countries, including Korea.

According to a report on Rain’s success in Asia submitted by the singer’s agency, JYP Entertainment, to the Korea Culture & Content Agency, some 920,000 copies of Rain (http://www.hancinema.net/korean_Rain.php?PHPSESSID=d7cf0bd4b4c71e2cbafa9b06d5cfd7d3)’s third album have been sold this year in Japan (100,000 copies), China (500,000 copies), Hong Kong (50,000 copies), Taiwan (70,000 copies), Thailand (150,000 copies) and Indonesia (50,000 copies). The total number of copies exceeds one million--or 1.074 million to be exact--if the 154,000 copies of the album sold in Korea since its release in October are also taken into account.

Thirty thousand tickets to Rain’s concert slated for Dec. 29-30 in Taipei, Taiwan have been sold out as well. If the 12,000 people who watched Rain’s concert in Seoul and the 10,000 people who attended his concert in Busan this year are also taken into account, a total of 152,000 people in Asia have seen the singer’s concerts this year.

"'One-source-multi-use' stars are in high demand in the Asian market, which is used to multi-entertainers,” said the report.

The report also calls for the implementation of an overseas partnership bank or database to eliminate hurdles in selecting overseas partners due to the lack of information on entertainers’ activities abroad. The selection of the right partner is crucial for creating an appropriate image of a star in a certain country and, therefore, producing profits and unearthing new opportunities.

JYP entertainment’s report also describes Rain’s future goals and prospects. According to the report, the singer will release his first single album in Japan in January and launch its promotion. In September, he will release his fourth full-length album concurrently in Korea and other Asian countries. To achieve his ultimate goal of establishing a presence in the global showbiz market, the singer will hold a large-scale concert tour of the entire Asian region.

Rain to Star in 'Old Boy' Director's New Film

Singer and actor Rain will make his big-screen debut in director Park Chan-wook’s new film, ``Saibogujiman Kwenchana,’’ which translates ``Although I am a cyborg, it’s OK.’’

Rain will play the male lead in the movie, which is scheduled to begin production in March, according to JYP Entertainment, Rain’s agency.

``We are in the last stage of negotiation for the film,’’ a JYP Entertainment official told The Korea Times over the phone.

The film by Park, who won the Jury Grand Prix for the second installment ``Old Boy’’ of his revenge trilogy at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, will portray a girl who thinks she is a combat cyborg.

She checks into a mental hospital, where she encounters other diverse psychotics. She even falls in love with a man who thinks he can steal souls from people with a machine he invented.

Rain almost made his screen debut in the 2004 film ``Fighter in the Wind,’’ but pulled out of the project at the last minute. Rain, however, starred in many hit TV dramas such as ``Sangdu, Let’s Go to School (Sangduya Hakkyogaja)’’ in 2003 and ``Full House’’ in 2004.

Last month, he finished another television drama ``I Chugilnomui Sarang,’’ in which he played a mixed martial arts fighter.

Besides starring in Park’s film, Rain is set to have a fairly busy year. The 23-year-old singer will release his first and second single albums in Japan this month, which will be accompanied by promotional events. His first single there is named ``Sad Tango.’’

He will continue his ``It’s Raining’’ tour with concerts in New York on Feb. 2 and 3, and in Bangkok, Thailand on Feb. 26.

The first regular album in Japan will be out in May and he will make a tour of seven to eight cities.

Rain will work on his fourth album for Korean fans and introduce it in September. Then he will restart his concert tour in Asian nations, according to his agency.

As for making inroads into the United States, Rain is focusing on learning English. ``If we push to make an advance into the United States, we can do it right now. But we will resolve the language issue,’’ the official said. ``When his English capability reaches a certain level, we will spur on the plan.’’
